Maine REALTORS..They Do Way Way More Than Just List, Show Properties!

early real estate broker pictures, mooers realtyEarly REALTORS had home made slide shows to woo the barbarian looking for a new cave or lair. Not much color, lots of rock on slate sketches. A modern Maine REALTOR goes beyond the sticks and stones of a home, or images of land, waterfront or business listing.  He/she applies the logic of why this particular say, home, would suit someone in a certain situation or time in their life.  For example, you live in an urban area, traffic, pollution, fast paced and riddled with high crime.  You want to step outside of that commotion, to move to a place like Maine that has none of these daily "stressors". You want four season beauty, affodable pricing, a good selection to pick from and to live where folks care about each other. They help each other.  The catch? Elderly parents..you may hang around that urban area and put your life on hold for an extended period..even though the kids are grown and you are not getting any younger.  Back to the job of that Maine REALTOR.  The blog write up of the home spells it out like a beacon to someone in this situation. http://activerain.com/blogsview/818918/Your-Mom-DadGetting-Older-And-You-Want-Housing-That-Includes-Them Sure the home is nice, the rental could be income generating for someone that works at the hospital behind this home.  That may be the headline on the next blog you advertise and promote the property with. Using different images, copy from an entirely different perspective for someone that does not have elderly parents that need housing too.  A good trial lawyer asks questions from different approaches depending on the witness on the stand, looking for calculated results to help the side of the case he/she is on.  You as a broker package, describe, picture and promote the property to reach as broad an audience as possible. And your video that is a narrated, walk thru shows the flow of the home and is not just a rehash of the same images zooming in and out making your viewer queasy. You do not maine real estate broker, mooers realty, andrew mooers, houlton maine real estatewant to waste their time with a rerun slideshow but the  video or movie the icon promises them. The buyer has lots of other options and so does the seller in picking an agent to work with. How well are you marketing your properties for the owner and for the prospective buyer to see and consider? Are you using video or what are you waiting for? Or do you still practive the he-man Caveman Realty approach to attract interest in a property where you live, work and play?

Nice job on the video. We have not tried that just yet. I think the next vacant listing we get or the next real show stopper we will give it a try.  Can you see how many views you are getting?  Does it get you any more sellers who are also wanting a video for their listing?

Maggie..you are at the property anyway...you have a camera, all the lights on...you are fresh with the details and just finished the listing.  Video it.  Take clips, and after awhile you are filming knowing how you are going to edit for a slick movie. Yes  it is amazing to have a Maine cottage at a lake uploaded on a Tuesday, by Thursdan 400 views, by the weekend under contract.  Impressed seller, happy buyer, done and moving on to another property.  Video also really really helps you search engine status..they are hot..don't wait.  All the sellers who see videos want one..not a slide show of stills.  Be the first, get excited and do videos on your area..show them the local turf. That impresses buyers and sellers. Makes you look like a chamber of commerce drum banger too that is high on your town.  Pride in your home or city.  In Maine it makes someone from Rhode Island 8 hours away decide let's drive up there Martha and take consider this one..that they have already toured kinda sorta due to the video you did! This is the lake cottage one that sold the place in less than a week.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3phkTnhUgk  We have soap box derby videos that have over 2000 views which is pretty neat in a small town of 6000 in  an area with only 11 people per square mile in Aroostook County..the size of Ct and RI!  I'll help guide you..video is great!

Hi Andrew,

I am a realtor located in the Bar Harbor area and I am a statewide lodging specialist. I must give you credit, I don't find many other Maine Realtors who have much of a web presence as we do. I am happy to send people your way up north! Dana Moos

Thanks Dana...will return the favor. I was raised on a farm so planting seeds..videos here, blogs there on Maine real estate AND just as important area information is key! Check out this local Maine event from a big win for the local team that was easy to whip up and post. This is the "ingredient" of what Maine is all about..the local home grown flavor.
