Fire In Houlton Maine....Grab Your Real Estate Video Camera And Capture It.

houlton maine fire department, aroostook county,8 maple street, mooers realtyAs a Jimmy Olsen cub reporter  or a Clark Kent that doubles as a full time real estate broker, your job is to capture and post area information.  You as a broker feed the local portal to the world thanks to the internet.  Within ten minutes of the news event, it is posted and everyone who cares about your home town sees it.  Nothing the NBC News would need to cover but news to local folks around the area.  They saw smoke and wondered what's that all about.  In small towns, no local TV outlet to capture and post.  But with video camera, you can post it.  Not just the parades, local ball or hockey teams and listings you have for sale.  Capture the local flavor of your area and in this case, see the Houlton Fire Department in action.  Offer to feed it to the nearest TV station which in Houlton's case is in Presque Isle (Channel 8).  Channel 8 does a good job covering the local soap box derby, teams, town events.  Help them with footage of something that happens in your home town.  Here's the link to the fire in this three unit apartment house with tenant reaction to what happened and owners in back ground watching.

I had to laugh, Andrew. A few days ago, we could see black smoke "across the way." Needless to say, we wanted to know what was burning. The kids and I took a drive over - as did a bunch of the other neighbors! It's amazing how simple events get a town talking.

Nothing is more local than showing off you own community to the world. Way to go. You have the right focus.
