Farming is not for everyone for sure.... it is hard work and you need true grit and determination... plus a love for the land.  I love this post because it covers so much of the benefits of family and farming... teaching real work ethics, growing together and how much better the world is if you put your heart into it!

Hard work but honest work with weather and market challenges. Satisfaction with the patience from spring time get the fields ready to plant and the final in the storage and shipped out to the market. Something different all the time. Dairy farming is so much more 24/7 daily cause Bessie has to be milked. And Bovine got out of the pasture again because a moose pulled down the fence on his way through your farm. Debra Leisek ! You learn to be frugal not cheap on a farmstead.

Thank you Anita Clark . Show them your area to go with the helpings of property listings to gobble up online. Important part of the job of being the local tour guide host or server right? I love where I live. If the agent or broker is not hand stand happy about where they live, work, play, the flat tire, lack of spark will impact their real estate career.

I remember when my daughter won a music scholarship to The University of Maine, Orono. She fell in love with a boy from Houlton who talked a lot about taking time off of school for digging/picking potatoes. She was so envious and wanted me to move there.

This post went straight to the heart. It was honest and pure. Truly a great representation of what it's like to live on the land and be a farmer. I loved every single word. It is clearly obvious to me, you know the lay of the land in Maine from every single aspect. Andrew, you represent the people of Maine in the most honest way.
