Maine has 4601 REALTOR members that list, market, sell real estate all over Vacationland.
This year's Maine Association Of REALTORS annual meeting and state convention is again at the Samoset in Rockport Maine. Every third year this centrally located venue for a state REALTOR convention gets tapped to be the spot for learning.
Lots of reasons to attend a MAR state REALTOR convention.
For the continuing educational credits all in one concentrated swoop. From the seminars held through out the three day convention and for networking with other market leaders in local real estate from around Maine. For sharing stories around the tables eating meals and learning from others in the same real estate trenches. Lots of exhibitors and after being inside a room with no windows all day, those hospitality suites on an open hotel deck overlooking the golf course and ocean setting at the Samoset refreshes the soul.
We've been to the Samoset MAR State Convention. Have blogged about the Samoset Maine REALTOR State Convention experience before. I get up bright and early...well okay. Dark and early to head out of Houlton Maine at 4:30 AM to travel south on Interstate 95 to veer off in Bangor Maine to head down to Rockport to attend the three day MAR state convention. You have to get up early to travel when you live in the crown of Maine, Aroostook County.
Last year's MAR convention was at the Sunday River Resort in Newry Maine but no one put on their boards to down hill ski.
The fall harvest of brilliant colors always is a time to reflect on the past three seasons of listings and selling.
To re-charge for the last quarter and prepare for the next year with a look back at the previous real estate seasons. Traveling to and from, I feel so so lucky to live in Northern Maine!
All the real estate seminars were excellent, the food plentiful and tasty. And learning about new ways to do our job better is always part of the state of Maine REALTOR state convention take away. What is new trending in real estate nationally, statewide, locally is always valuable knowledge to learn and to utilize in our own operations as a property listing dealer. But looking forward to the one more mornning session on social media and heading the jeep north.
Another MAR convention winding down.
I have learned a lot. But I miss my mate and wonderful life with her putting up with the hard work real estate demands. And my secretary has a booked solid schedule waiting for me to resume and appreciate her holding down the fort so to speak while down country at the state of Maine REALTOR's convention.
I'm Maine REALTOR Andrew Mooers, ME Broker
Good morning, Andrew Mooers (Andy).... you're the ideal Maine Realtor.... continually learning and putting effort into improving what you do.... your "mate" is always with you .... and your children must be very proud of you...
Thank you Barbara Todaro ! Hope your market is sizzling and all are happy, healthy!
Sounds like a great event and opportunity to network and learn. Thanks for sharing.
Great post, Andrew Mooers and it is always reassuring when you know you have trusted people covering for you when you are away from your market area.
Good morning Andrew. I hope that the Maine Realtor convention will be a very valuable one for you.
Nathan Gesner ... You do come back energized... and ready to put new ideas, programs into play to tighten up the operation in this sport called real estate!
Gabe Sanders ... It always is and I bet you go to them too to sharpen the skills, reinvent the job we do to list, twist, sell.
Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 ... what is sad is only 450 of the 4600 attend. The ones that go help shape the industry laws, regulations, programs that get implement for the next generation. The conventions are like boot camp and you learn so so much in and out of the classroom! If not, I would not attend year after year.
I hope you will be able to use some of the new things that you have learned at the convention.
Thanks Roy Kelley !
I love your photos. I don't know if you have entered any in the photo contest yet, but you should!
We blog on property listings, the real estate process of buying, selling, the community flavor. That takes most of the time but hometown imagery is a big channel feed on the local level for sure Sharon Tara ! You live in New England and know how beautiful it is. Photo posting is part of the round robin on the media channels we feed.
OK, nevermind. I take it back. You shouldn't enter the contest. I don't stand a chance if you do. LOL
I always pick up something of value at our state convention. Those that go with an open mind find tidbits of knowledge. Thanks for following my blog.
