Retirement Relocation ... Why, Where, How, When?

The retirement relocation to Maine, lots of people are doing it.

For no shortage of personal and practical reasons. To fulfill lots of deep down desires. But the science of retirement planning, picking a place to match what people see themselves needing down the road. What works best for a person's retirement is tied to so many factors. As as a real estate broker in Maine, the job of matchmaking the property to the retirement lifestyle the buyer wants is part of our rewarding job. retirement stain glass photo

Your outside surroundings help create the atmosphere that percolates and radiates inside a person.

Achieving contentment in retirement means first spreading out all the puzzle pieces on the card table. It is a serious process for seniors to consider all the elements. And retirement age does not always arrive when a person has graying temples, loss of hair or wears a blue tint rinse.

Retirement age is not just keyed when you reach a certain number either side of 65 but is an attitude to free up time for lifetime pursuits beyond the bucket list. And if you are lucky, healthy, your retirement is not a forced sudden decision. But a slower shift to fulfill a life long dream to create space for whatever way you want to spend those sunset years. Deciding to turn on the blinker. Easing up  on the pedal to the metal to prepare to merge with retirement. Taking the right exit of many in the vast state of Maine.

Oh we see lots of forty something real estate buyers retiring early to Maine.

But if you love what you do for work, you never really labor right? New business launches like sporting camps, bed and breakfast inns or buying a bunch of apartment rental houses to tinker on. Like a working vacation in Maine. It's what some of our real estate buyers do when they dial in what they call retirement mode.maine photo

Retirement in more than one place happens too in the case of snow birds.

Who shift it up and move around like a cruise ship that floats to more than one island landscape. Sometimes in state to spend time at the lake cottage, the in-town home or out on the farm property.

Or retirement split in different corners of the country like tic tac toe covering places trading spaces.

What do you want your retirement to look like? Retirement, Maine and all the reasons people use to end up picking where they do. Why Maine, this state in the upper right hand corner of the country. Read the full article on retirement, relocation to Maine.

Good morning Andrew.  I've read recently that Maine is now one of the top states where retirees are headed.  Though, it will be some time before those little leaguers will be retiring.

What a beautiful photo of mountains in the distance. Our top two retirement choices right now are either Montana or Maine.

Gabe Sanders ... Many are also hedging their bets for the surf and turf. Maine and Florida combined two zip code lifestyle to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Doug Dawes ... Anywhere in Maine is wonderful... but some areas like around Kennebunkport, coastal are more pricey the closer you get to that population center called Bean Town, where the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins play.
