The Real Estate Seller Is Mad At Zillow, Listing Showing Off Market.

If you were a real estate seller, had a property listing being marketed aggressively, and oh oh, Zillow. 

Someone, bagging zzz's, asleep at the real estate listing status switch at the glass or ivory towers. The "Z thang" is showing the property listing off market. Not available. Then why would it need to be there to just take up space like a bump on a log?

The property listing. Off the real estate market. Ah, no it is not. Quite the opposite.

Slow to respond is what happens when a mistake is made or just a simple correction needed with a big box portal of listings. And begs the issue to have vibrant, more helpful and accurate information if you want to sell, not just list a property listing.

Go to the locally sourced, close to home real estate, food, any community information, etc works best. Dealing locally with the professional who lives, works, plays in the local town or city where the property listings are posted.

Make sure the local real estate portals are all they should be and purring like a kittten. Humming like a well run kitchen putting out the orders.

This is a great post, Andrew. I had to chuckle at your Zzzzz reference. I'm so tired of sounding like a broken record when it comes to telling the consumer about the inaccuracy of zillow.

Lou Ludwig ... We all strive for customer service... and do it best on the local end where we have the master keys to the platform controls. Consumers are waking up to that. Deal direct with the listing agents, brokers, REALTORS.

Debbie Laity ... No news is better than the wrong news right? It is like the hole in the information buckle dear Liza, and the more bucket brigade transfers of slopped into this contained, spilled over into that one to get to the RTZ perch is the disconnect, MIA and just wrong status happening.

Conrad Allen ... Amen my friend. We do the damage control, the PR that is missing when the propaganda is just skewed, wrong, upside down.

Good morning Andy,

It really is unfortunate how inaccurate Zillow is! We have to constantly keep the public informed of the true facts. Texas is a non-disclosure state so they do not have our sold information (although they are trying to contact listing agents directly to find the sold price of a property) therefore their zestimates are REALLY off..guessing and taking the loan amount which is public record is not effective!

For a week I have chased, tried to change and deaf ears on Z's end. Have more than one property showing up OFF MARKET and NOT FOR SALE that are. Small easy fix just being ignored. Conrad Allen is right.

These sights shouldn't be as attractive to the consumer when their information is incorrect. Somehow they are anyway and people keep going back to them to look at homes and agents.

Very disappointing. I feel like a broken record whenever I have to explain the problem. The system is designed to make the agent look bad.

Yvette Chisholm ... Push your local mediastream and do the best you can with the stuff sent to WA and messed up on the rebound. Direct the buyer into your sites you stock more fully, more accurately and that are fresh, correct.

Hannah Williams ... Have two Zillow insertions that I doctored to read as the lead in THIS PROPERTY IS FOR SALE, IS AVAILABLE AND IS NOT OFF MARKET. And go into the write up so they realize the OFF MARKET NOTATION, NOT FOR SALE reject stamp is nullified the best we can. Because no one on the other end is available. Unless you want to buy a product or add on. That is where all the Z men and women are. Chasing the dollar a hollar.
