Texting In Real Estate, In Life. LOL, Do Your Thumbs Get A Work Out?

The buyer in Florida does not just call, use the email server to communicate but texts.

PM messages me on the Facebook channel. Uses Twitter. Maybe LinkedIn.maine lupines photo

Occassionally the communication arrives with a heads up, someone left a comment on YouTube.

Or the vehicle fired up for media use in the transmission of recycled electrons is Google Plus.

But texting is slick, easy, has a role in our day to day in real estate.

If the battery is charged, the signal has at least a bar.

Sometimes it is more than the personal texts of "Dad, we hit a Maine black bear on I-95 with the jeep. We're okay. Bear, not so much."

I hate texting, but I get it.  It's easy, it's quick, and everybody can do it.

With four kids, as a single full time Dad, texting was key in the "Dad, where are you?" "Hockey practice done, I could eat a horse, what's for supper? Come get me please." Being there is half the value and knowing they can get you. Quick text to let everyone know no one is forgotten. I'm coming. Customers of real estate want speed of thought, drive through quick contact too. For while the iron is hot, they are ready to trot.

Andrew

Texting as surpassed using e-mail. Maybe next people may actually start talking to each other.

Good luck and success.

Good morning Andy. I text begrudgingly. My wife and kids are texting all the time, so the drag me along.

Hi Andrew.  Texting has become a way of life.

The younger generation feels that texting is the perfect way to communicate.  I just try to roll with the wave, though I am not a big fan.

LL ... Lots missed without the face to face. Where you see someone choking up, a tear in their eye of emotion. The emotion is strained, drained out and reduced to simple, easy, quick.

Joe ...  To be in the family loop Dad has too right?

CA ... Constant contact... not writing a letter and waiting for one back. Or keeping a sharp look out for the carrier pigeon, the message in the bottle bobbing by. Communication, we have all the options, video works the best for our real estate and area marketing.

Gabe ... Snack communication not buffet rich and varied... the experience is not the same. But a connection is better than none at all. And building, adding images, a link can expand on the other end. Consider the device the guy or gal in the audience is holding, all they have. And feed it with what you have for limitations, options as creatively as you can.

It's a necessary evil, Andrew.  I had a client who ONLY used texts and Facebook messages.  If I would call her, she wouldn't answer but FB message me a second later.  She would blow up my phone at night with questions.  Before I could answer the first one, there were three more!  Oh, she was 25

I have more clients that text than I do email or call.  I watched a webinar with Katrina Benton yesterday and she said that she doesn't even have phone numbers to some of her clients.  They never did anything but email!

Eric ... Communication... winking in the dark does not work so well, gets poor results. But if you use all the possible options for media stream delivery possible... you get more round trip tickets to front row seats at real estate closings. Which leads to more listings. It is a delicious, anything but vicious cycle.

Pamela ... My phone is a computer, image and video capture device all in one... and fits in the pocket for on the go. Like our buyers, sellers... use what works for the others in the audience.

More people prefer texting than calling us these days. It is easy to communicate quickly.
