Reasons To Live In A Small Maine Town | You Hear What Time It Is.

maine small town photo

Small Maine towns, especially when they are the county seat of one of Vacationland's sixteen mean a court house, a clock.

And on the hour bell ringing to let you know the time.

You hear it as you hoof to get to the local small town Maine movie theatre on time.

And before it chimes seven pm or for a matinee on the weekends. Or to remind you of the hour when returning a book to the local library.

Maybe   swinging in for a bakery donut, muffin, bagel and a steaming fresh cup of Joe. Make it black please. Just black. Ahhh. Perfect.

And as you walk to a local restaurant, Masonic or Elks Club meeting, you hear the time from the always working Maine town clock parked in town center.

Watching the seasons change. All those people climbing up and down the steps to hit the registry of deeds. To settle a law suit, end a marriage, work magic on the adoption or citizenship. Settle an estate after the loss of a loved one, newly departed. Gone from this Earth.

In bed at night when awake with something on your mind, you know it's past time to go to sleep.

Counting in your head silently as the bell tolls.

The sandman is waiting outside your door with a shovel.

You are holding him up from making his rounds.

Let it go, wait until tomorrow.

Or it is tomorrow but way way too early to start it.

Small Maine towns, the Pine Tree State has 108 of them.

Come experience one and start your collection.

We have a couple ideas on choices to make for a memorable connection.

Lots of hidden communities, small towns to explore.

Maine, she grabs your heart, never lets go. And you don't mind in the least.

Don't stay away so long.

It's time to begin your relationship with Maine.

Great pictures. Never been to Maine, but it sounds very nice...if a little cold for me.

Barbara ... you know about the four season weather. Not the Artic Circle is it after living here.

Than ... never been to Maine means you might be a little off on the weather expectations. Here's more on the real Maine weather. We have no polar bears in Maine. Come see for yourself.
