Sometimes Maine Land Is Bought Not To Use, But To Help Sleep Nights.

maine black bear photo

Real estate, Maine land can serves lots of purposes.

Abe Lincoln reminded underneath all is the land. You need some of your own to build a home, recreational cabin, to pitch a tent or to make a living from the farm fields or the woodlots.

Or maybe rent out camps along the Maine waterfront if running a sporting, lodging business is more your style to make a living. Without the suit and tie and wing tips or loafers. You can enjoy that great outdoor Maine fresh air that involves opening up your home.

Serving meals, being a tour guide. Having the same people appear year after year to stay at your Maine home away from home recreational fun fun fun business.

But back to the headline, Active Rain blog post title, helping someone counting sheep... tossing and turning. And how does Maine land help the "boing" wide away peepers that just won't close?

Work like a real estate sleep sedative you wonder? Piece of mind, living in a concrete jungle and not being so happy about all the people, crime, hustle bustle.

Makes the desire to own a piece of Maine land a very strong tug on the heart of the acreage buyer. The more Maine land, the better. For space, to run away to if things get unbearable, too hot in the kitchen so to speak. In the city where the Maine land buyer chases the dollar.

Tries to make ends meet.

And is developing a truck tire around the waist, watching the hair line go high, higher until gone gone gone on the top of their noggin.

Had a couple of New Jersey callers over the weekend say everyone around them is running out and buying guns. AR 15 heavy duty assault rifles and no pea shooters. Not cap guns like we used as kids to bang bang bang pretend. This is for real and in a scary way. You see in cities "Evacuation Routes" on blue circles and the thought does cross you mind while at a stop light with six lanes of traffic maine cows photoaround you. That getting out of this city would present some obstacles. Stalled vehicles, angry scare people. Lots of them. Fearing for their lives, the families too that they protect and nuture.

If trailer trucks stopped deliveries to city grocery stores just a few days ago. And there is a run on the milk, eggs, bread to feed your family.

Or if chaos and large scale violence, looting were to happen because people are scared. And everything becomes out of control in a casual way with no turning back on the chain reaction as things escalate. To a high pitch air raid siren wail.

So for many we sell a piece of Maine land, a property to a buyer who just likes owning it.

An insurance policy. Just in case. If they have to bail from where they live grabbing a few things and pointing it north up Interstate 95 to Maine like lots of the Stephen King books outline oh so well. Knowing it is there but often they are 13 hours away or more.

Don't use the Maine land property all that much really. Except for the security blanket, insurance policy type peaceful thinking component.

That they know where they are heading if the get up and go becomes got up and went. Like the Clash song asks, should I stay or should I go...that's all he wants.needs to know.

They plan vacations whenever they can to use the land in Maine recreational, for low cost vacations in their shanty, whatever they build on the property acreage that is always big and cheap and beautiful. Someday is when they will use the Maine land. That is the dream that plays behind their closed eyes. Splashes on the back of their head. Cranks out between their ears while slipping into a snoring pattern pretty darn quickly, easily after the lights go out each night.

Maine, big state, less people, way way more wildlife and drop dead gorgeous scenery.
