Like "Cheers" For Pigeons Where Everybody Knows Your Er, Name.

pigeons roof maine home

Convention for pigeons on a Maine home... not what you really want to have to add to the curb appeal.

This collection of birds hanging out like it was an Elks Club state hoopla celebration.

On a home in Masardis Maine in Aroostook County.

Asked on local what's the attraction, why this home on Main Street of all the rest?

Asphalt shingles, the birds like to peck peck and get something from the process of chipping away some salt, other nutrient. Of it's a high for their happy hour. Heat from the home not the attraction because empty pigeons on tv antennaehome.

The birds on the TV antennae have limited seating, like pay per view. HBO, a premium channel.

Had a Houlton Maine home years ago I sold that was nicknamed "The Pigeon Lady's Home".

Just about the time of Legionaires Disease reports coming out of the Center For Disease Control.

And guess what was tied to the illness?

And luckily the neighbor's bought it, tore it down. The value of the property was not that high with a run down Maine home on it. But NOT buying it would hurt the value of the Mr Roger's nice as punch place next to it. Taking away much more than the purchase price even with the tear down. Added a nice corner lot to the new Houlton Maine home owner's acreage too.

I am not a fan of Pigeons at all.  Talk about messy and being food hogs at the backyard bird feeder.  Ugh.

John ... Me neither although carrier pigeons used to be used to carry news of new hot listings to property owners in windy area. Where the smoke signals got all messed up, confusion happened. Not my listing, not for sale but made me stop the jeep, back up because there were so many and wondered how come. Fighting for a seat on the TV antennae on a Saturday afternoon while sports programming beamed in!

I love the cooing of pigeons, but beyond that I am not a fan. The question is does the fact that they perch there needed to be disclosed. HA. Will it actually have a detrimental affect on value? Have a good one Andrew.
