Great points on the benefits of using video!

Charlie ... When you go on a vacation, snap a view images and bring them home, get them developed, then it's "this is what i saw on vacation". But with video, with natural sound, the other guys on the couch in the living room "go on vacation" too. They've actually been there, done that and have a memorable experience to recall, connect and relate to. Video is powerful. Don't forget that over 50% of the folks have no clue about your area, never been there. Head to the Maine, the coast, see a lighthouse with video right now.

Deven ... If you are going to do video, you have to learn how to edit. Otherwise it's like trying to learn how to fly without wings.

Andrew, I loved the party animal comment! Your videos really to showcase the home, and let the viewers experience it so much better than still photos!

Cheryl ... Even the most social creature would think oh my poor rugs if 1000 people cruised in, around their home for the open house "party". If you have a you tube channel set up, but only have a handful of views, the thought of that happening seems ridiculous. A Maine farm I just sold, closed on had (squinting) 8241 views so lots of folks were inside, outside, out back by the brook, in the barns, sampled the view. Our youtube channel has 548 videos, 616,252 views on it last look. And that is just the branded you tube channel, not the one we use for MLS unbranded insertions or other video platforms like vimeo, property tube, facebook, welcome mat, metacafe, etc. Open houses happen around the clock with videos.

You make a powerful argument for using video!  The 60-second video is a wordless commercial for your state. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to get on the bandwagon .. and I'll do that .. soon ..

Dianne .... 60 seconds is all the time for Maine to grab hold of your heart... in a good way. She is so big, vast and never lets go. Not over populated, something for everyone. And it's always about blue and green. Maine lighthouses, lobsters, ocean front sea coasts terrains that are rock bound, rugged are popular too!

S and D .... Stuffing, filling, the good kind that oozes around the property listings. Local community flavor... serve up the buffet of images, videos, information for the local surf and turf.
