Camping in Maine, to me its surrounded by trees and not in a park with other RV's, trailers, motorhomes.
All by yourself with your
Seeing the occassional four legged "neighbor" wander by.
Fishing for your supper, that pan fill of fresh brook or lake trout sizzling.
And in Maine, stars, talk about an explosion of them on the black velvet backdrop.
We don't have light pollution, or other kinds in the 4th lowest crime state, Maine. 46th lowest for FSSR too.
So Maine camping, not looking for some swanky place on the water but would like to be near it, to sample some?
We had you in mind hunt and pecking the electrons to form this blog post on an Orient Maine log cabin.
Not the machined logs kind.
The hand cut, peeled, hewn type.
Set back from the road leading to Fosterville New Brunswick Canada.
You are some kind of close to the US Canadian International Boundary crossing with this 2.71 acres of Maine land.
Hear the loons from your open front porch on Grand Lake.
Use the lake, have fun year round but then come home to your Maine log cabin in the woods.
In less than three minutes we can take you for a tour of the place, ready? Toggle the Maine log cabin recreational property listing video.

Hi Andy....sure wish I was in Maine during the past few days.....we were slammed by Irene.....you just had drizzle....
I agree Andrew - I've seen condo camping and it's nothing like being out in a remote area where you can hear the animals in the distance and see lightening bugs everywhere. My husband and I have backpacked to remote places with no one but us and the stars. However, carrying a 40 lb pack is too much for me these days. But we have 4 wheel drive and manage to still find great places to camp.
Barbara... Actually rain a little Sunday and Monday was blue skies, sunshine and we missed the hub bub.
Kristine... Condo camping with the McMansion on 18 wheels.... ah that is not outdoor roughing it. The jeep, snowsled, ATV and hoofing it access are the places to be. I've seen your camping pictures and you know!
Love the loon at the end of the video, nice touch Andrew!
Oh Boy, OH BOy, OH BOY!!!!! Loved this post. I've suggested it. My favorite part is the video. From the magic of your telling the story to the loon call at the end...it is SWEET!
Thanks so much, Andrew!
Rene ... No one can resist a Maine loon, moose, lobster.
ANCRE ... The loon was a hit.
I loved the video and I'm a true loon lover too! The rocks on the water and the sound of the loons reminded me of Moose Pond and my little cabin in the woods where I lived once upon a time at Wyonegonic Camps in Denmark, ME.
Thanks for taking me for a ride down the backroads of Maine. I enjoyed it!
Pat... Maine loons cry, sing, dance and definitely entertain. In a kayak, up close they are pretty big too!
