When you are a real estate agent, broker, REALTOR, you want to list more, sell more properties if you are in the dog and pony to get a larger piece of the local pie.But often it is not who you are, how snappy your dressing is, your charismatic delivery and spell binding charm. Not mirror mirror on the wall time. Heck no, heavens sake it is how you save folks time and money and your delivery completeness. How extensive and helpful your marketing of your local community, the property listings themselves.
At a lead line horse show as a kid on a Maine farm competing for a blue or at least a red ribbon, at seven years old, the lines, confirmation of the animal was a big part of winning. So was how well you had cleaned extensively every square inch of that horse, the hoofs matter. Big time. Curried the tail and mane. Horse washed with special shampoo, oils, french braiding and detailing. Led in with by lead line hooked to the horse's halter. Talked too under your breath so the judge did not hear but to calm horse or keep him from going to sleep. With a crop to wave and see out of the corner of the horse's eye to keep him being bored. To keep his ears up, his attention focused.
Less about the trainer than the horse lines, presentation.Maybe listing, selling real estate property listings should be that way too.
Maybe real estate agents, brokers, REALTORS should spend less time primping for the cameras, me me me. And put that effort in to making the properties look good, complete, nothing missing in the information delivery. And promotion of the communities that are total unknowns, brand new worlds for many of the on line real estate buyer where 85% of folks go to learn more.
At first glance, you would think these real estate folks wearing the dark blue and gold "R" are an egotistical bunch. And the glamour photos with smiles handed out like someone is running for public office or hoping to win an Academy Award are such a contrast when you meet the person up close and personal, for real. Looking 20 years older and nothing like the wind in your hair, dramatic pose with head tilted so, back lighting working its magic.
More attention to the property listings sticks and bricks, maps, helpful information and imagery, videos are needed. So is area local blog posts, details about the zip code you list, market, sell and serve. Maine, a tad outspoken but down to earth simple and you know where you stand. No punches pulled.
