Most of us are very happy to see the early signs of spring. We have beautiful weather in Maryland and everybody has been out to home shows and the garden centers to select supplies and plants for their gardens.

This spring may offer a historical moment for home buyers to take action. Interest rates are low. However, mortgage lenders are suggesting early rate lock-ins due to the upward pressure in the market. So, buyers need to keep a close eye on the interest rates.

Fees will be going up on FHA mortgages and most expect a decrease in the maximum loan amounts and an increase in down payment requirements in future months. In other words, now may be the best time for purchasing a home. In Maryland and several other states, first time home buyers also have grants to $7,500 to assist with the cash requirements of a home purchase.

Spring is blooming for home buyers!
