Maine Has 6000 Lakes...Sample One Or Two In Your Lifetime.

Getting out on the water, looking out over a Maine lake.

Or river, stream, pond, the ocean for that matter. maine lakefront photosMaine is blessed with 6000 lakes alone.

Think of the recreational options, the relaxation you can enjoy around one. And any lake in Maine over 20 acres is supposed to have a public landing.

Many have very easy public launches to get you quickly out on to the water to fish, sail, kayak, water ski or just float your boat.

What is the cost for in state boat and other Maine registration fees? Once you live in Vacationland, Maine, the options are vast.

Deciding which lake to sample, which river or stream to fly fish happens.

Same with hiking Maine mountains at one of the 30 state parks that have hidden, crystal clean ponds, lakes, rivers, streams too.

So many, so little time. Relax, you're in Maine.

If you wonder about Maine shoreland zoning, and are toying with buying property on the waterfront, make sure to do your home work BEFORE purchasing to avoid surprises. Your expectations could be different than what is allowed by law on a Maine lake for development, expansion, construction.

In the summer time Maine is one of my favorite places to go. I am not sure I ever mentioned this to you but my folks own a cottage up in York Beach. I love the place and have been going since I was a little kid!

Andy, I'm almost under the impression that EVERY parcel of land in your neck of the woods has either a lake or stream, OR you can throw a rock and hit one from your property edge!

Andrew, stop taunting with the loon cries already. I sometimes miss living in Minnesota (summers) and that call brings me back.

Andy, that is a lot of lakes. Water craft businesses must be busy during the summer.

Bill....you've had your share of fresh Maine seafood. You know what it is all about. L&B...Waterfront is a powerful tractor beam here in Maine. I play that face card as often as I can. Surf and turf. Waterfront, farm and land...it is not just home, home, home that we sell, market, blog about. Glenn...The loons crying in a moonlight night on a Maine lake with a breeze and tomorrow's weather promised to be total blue skies and sunshine...well, that's living. Cal...6000 is a lot of lakes. Lots to a state like Maine.
