Maine Real Estate For Sale !

WARNING : Mental Images Contained Can Cause Squirming In Chair, Butterfly Stomach.

All the REALTORS in the land gather round the campfire to share, question, reflect and to leave a cyber calling card here at Active Rain University.

stained glass But this morning, lets fast forward, hold on, to a hospital room. For some reflections. You the broker are stretched length wise, recovering from your seventh bout of pneumonia. A tube with clear liquid taped to one arm, a wire dangling from a circular patch of vinyl stuck to your chest. Monitors beep morse code to the front desk. Cards from well wishers and family line a shelf by the window. You joke you will be out of this joint, to continue recovering from a broken hip surgery endured two weeks before. If the food does not kill you first.

The sun streams in the south side hospital window. Your eye catches the trace, blur of someone in a wheelchair being escorted down the hall for one more test. Today. And you know your own days of down hill skiing, dosey doeing square dancing, hiking Mt Katahdin one more time..all of it is going to have to be a memory from here on out. As you reflect on your life, were there many endeavors you had always said "When I retire I'll (blank) (blank) (blank)?

Well, maybe you'll have to settle for reading about those events, watch movies with other people in the major roles you had always figured you would get around to filling. Someday. Are these the thoughts you are going to wrestle with in the nursing home where cream style corn, something easy to eat is what's for lunch? As you drift in and out of reality and are not always sure if you are a foot or on horseback? Green tubes out your nose, bony times twenty frame that used to be able to bound to three closings a day, list two more properties before sundown and get to the Little League game to coach, hit the ice cream shack with the team win or lose? Now you juggle orange, white lid hard to open medication bottles instead of showing appointments, calls to arm wrestle with the appraiser, updating your tumblelog. I'm just aware of the last few slides in that carousel projection of your life.

stainglass window reflection Like the Bucket List, what line items appear on your yellow legal pad to remind yourself to do before you are not able too? Go to Maine and see property? I can help you with that one. Call a loved one where you both have an arrangement...a long standing understanding to avoid, make believe neither of you are there? New habits for an old body while that body can still do some of the hokey pokey moves? REALTORS get busy because you have a life, and we, the guys and gals wearing the R let you lead it.

The R, the hardest, fastest working letter in the alphabet.

What are you broker types doing this weekend that has absolutely nothing to do with peddling property? I'm strapping on the skis, heading to Canada which is less than 3 miles away to swish swish down Crabbe Mountain. While I can, to enjoy the day and fill my lungs with some Atlantic Canada air in New Brunswick. Maybe I'll make a video about it, like one trip to Big Rock Ski area. Time's a Larry the Cable Guy reminds us "Git 'er Dunnnnnn" Real estate brokers are soooo busy, knee deep in the lives of our buyers, sellers that making sure you take time to lead your own life, to have some fun is key. I'm just saying, save some for yourself. It's your life, one to have no regrets about.

I did so much tennis, running, volleyball, basketball, hiking, and mountain climbing when I was young that my knees can no longer do anything other than walk around with my handy dandy Canon Rebel XSi and take pictures. I can't wait for true virtual reality to get here so I can climb Mount Everest, ski down the Matterhorn, hike 20 miles in one day (again), etc.

Virtual anything. Well, almost as good as the real thing.
