Air Plane Ticket Cost To Houlton Maine, $15,000. One Way.

You can not Priceline.com a cheaper price for a plane ticket to Houlton Maine.

No matter how much houlton maine international airportcoaxing, tutoring by Captain Kurk, you can not "go lower". Why? Smaller rural Maine airports don't have plane loads of folks streaming in multiple times per day.

The options for HUL Houlton Maine 04730 for commercial flights are to wander up the road 40 miles to PQI (Presque Isle Maine 04769).

Or climb on  Interstate 95 for the under two hour drive to BGR (Bangor Maine 04401). Often, heading further south to (Portland Maine 04101) gets you that much closer to the major hubs. Which means less stops, shorter flights to wherever you are going. On family trips we have taken off from MHT (Manchester NH 03101) or BOS (Boston MA 02101) I know of a local attorney that goes across the Canadian border two miles away from Houlton ME and on to YHZ Halifax, Nova Scotia. With a population around 300,000, he has found low cost, easy ways to sling shot, ricochet in to some of the Caribbean island destinations.

The $15,000 one way plane ticket to Houlton ME International Airport? After deregulation and commercial service to Houlton, charter airlines became the option. When some one asks can I fly in to Houlton Maine's airport I say yes you can. But private connection, charter options.

York Ford/Toyota will pick you up, rent you a car so you have wheels. Can tool around the area of Southern Aroostook to explore. Get it done.

I have picked up private and charter passengers that have flown in to show property and then get them back in the air. And the $15,000 ticket was for a couple that had no kids that bought a farm in Amity Maine. They paid cash for the place with stocks being cashed in of software companies. They flew from Washington state, on a twin engine sleek private jet with a crew of four and just the couple and four other very very important passengers. The couple's four felines..cats that they did not want to subject to a commercial airline. The pilots/crew spent the night in Houlton Maine, and then on their way for a pick up at Logan Airport in Boston MA.

Terry Larson for years had a private plane and we could set up pickups from other airports. It was convenient, a little pricey but a flight in to, out of Houlton Maine. The HIA facilty is also known for quick clearance of customs/immigration because the border crossing is a rock's throw away from the airport..right on the Canadian/US border. Terry Beals and other plane overhauling options are available and some of the cheapest aviation fuel is available here in Houlton Maine. The US Border Patrol has a helicopter and plane based at Houlton Maine to do fly overs along the long Aroostook County border. That air arm for border protection has been beefed up tremendously since 911 happened.

Cats are expensive if you want first class service. This buyer had a boat load of microsoft stock..money was not an object and they just cashed in a few hundred shares to make the purchase...on anything. If they had gotten a piper cub to bring them in or driven north 40 miles, they could have gotten here for around $300 per tickets. But the cats would not have had the caviar, persian cow milk and crab cake snacks.
