Vacations...The Busier You Are, The More You Need Them.

Americans work 42 percent more hours over the last five years I read in a newspaper while heading out onmaine ocean scene, welcome to maine vacation.

No matter how hard you work, and how much you think you could not be lived with out at work, you need a vacation.

You can not afford not to take a vacation with the family and come back refreshed, full of vim and vigor and new ideas to implement. To me cruising is the best vacation dollar value. Everything is paid for, unless you get overboard gambling, drinking up a storm or just whip out the credit card too much at ports of call.

Here's a video below of the highlights of last week's vacation with my youngest son and his girlfriend. Did you take your spring school break vacation and where did you go? I live in Maine which is "Vacationland" right in our own back yard. But still nice to see blue green water and a whole new landscape on a Carribean sea cruise. Watch the cruise video below!

Andrew, so true. The problem for me is that whenever I schedule a vacation, that's when I get busy.

Gabe I totally agree with you... it is when we plan that perfect vacation that the perfect deal comes accross our desk!

Have a great day!

Gabe. I hear you. Before I left town on this one, I had hoped to be all wrapped up by 4pm to get on the road. It was closer to 6:30 with all the little camp fires that cropped up. You are busy, but with family, and for your own reflection on your life, you need to go and meet lots of neat people. It is mental health, you earned it and there are some real deals now. Christopher, I can see you in a Hawaiian print shirt with a drink and and umbrella in your hand. Work hard, but plan a vacation. When we are all old and gray with green tubes coming out our nose as parts wear out, none of us will regret the vacations while we were healthy enough to travel before our parts wear out.

Hi Andrew, So true. I try to get away every couple of months but it seems the time gets longer and longer sometimes it is a year! We just went for a mini to Vancouver Island to see my hubby's relatives and of course like the two above me said the deals kept coming and the other realtor watching my stuff sold something while away ...now that is a "good" vacation I am always thankful for that!

I here you. I need a day off...and I need the sales so the vacation still waits.

Get creative Chuck and think of the vacation, a short needed one that you got a whale a deal on as mental health, part of what you have to do to pull away from work for a few days and then charge back in with new, fresh perspective, energy. Work like a beaver the other 51 weeks, be efficient so you saved wasted time to justify the week away but don't just say, I need sales. If money is so tight, a camping vacation with a tank of gas away from home is an easy option and the cost can be minimal. I am lucky to live in Maine where from May 1st on, we have no reason to leave "Vacationland" which is in my backyard. Plan your vacation like a priority for a physical, etc and make it important.

Karen...you are right, deals in the pipeline that close while away are a nice bonus when the check is here when you return. Just tidy them up before you go and hope last minute mess up does not happen or the one you left in charge is really on the ball for damage control! Glad you had a good vacation. You deserve it.

I tell my clients that if you want to get busy, take a vacation! I am amazed at how much business people receive while on Vacation. I don't know how or why it works, but if you go on vacation you will see what I mean and your business will pick up.
