Haven't Been To Canada..To Woodstock New Brunswick For A While, And Miss It.

When my two boys were in the minor hockey league, trips back and forth from Maine into Canada were us border patrol, houlton maine, homeland security, mooers realtythree and four times a week, or more.

I enjoyed our location on the New Brunswick border, and being able to jump across and take in a hockey game. But now my youngest is a senior and his varsity season just ended. The Slammers and other hockey talent have games at the beautiful Woodstock Carleton County Civic Center arena and just because I am no longer chasing the black puck around Canadian rinks, it's time to take a trip across the border.  The center also has a huge pool that younger kids really enjoy having their birthday parties at and it is reasonable priced to "rent".

Woodstock New Brunswick is a beautiful little town similiar sized to Houlton Maine. Maybe hit a movie, check out some stores, get something to eat...and just get out of the country for something different to do.  Change of scnery on a local level as winter winds down. From my home on North Street, the border is about two miles.  Other ActiveRainers on the Northern or Southern border border also have the same option and depending on the value of the dollar/loonie, it can be a money houlton maine us border crossing, woodstock new brunswick canada, mooers realtysaving trip too as relaxtion of duties on goods made in Northern America are no longer a concern. Canadian real estate brokers do the same thing all over North America. I see lots of gas and milk sales with drivers wearing Canadian plates. And a local grocer told me turkeys are the big carrot to get Canadians to cross the border too. He had over 700 in stock one morning and they were all gone by the end of the day and most of them destined for tables in Canada. Wonder if it is only the price or maybe something about range fed or the manner turkeys are raised in the Canada?
