You Arrive By Car With Buyer...(Dog Growls) Now What..? Rover Is Not Happy!
You have the showing all set up. It was a bugger to arrange as the renter in the house did not really ever find it convenient for you to show the castle you have listed for sale. The large hungry dog does not resemble Lassie or anything you had as a child. You forgot your piece of bologna to cause a diversion as you dash for the door.
What happens now? Call the owner, call the renter, call animal control officer? Every broker has had a similiar situation with the dog that the owner says "Oh ...he won't bite you? " (Chomp!) Had one last week that the renter was not there, but failed to tell us about the rotweiler in the back bedroom...we are showing the place and heading down the long narrow hall of the mobile home...and suddenly Fido awakes and wanders out into the hall...oh oh. But he was friendly at first so we finished up and headed quickly back to the front door...he started getting frisky and as the husband and I stepped outside, he attacked the door which we quickly shut. The wife and child were inside and I quickly went to the window, tapped on it to get the dog's attention before he turned on them...and he attacked the window but at least they could escape. Damage from pets left alone that are the size of buffalo...not good. Makes you wonder why the renter / owner has such large animals and many times mulitple animals when they are not around to care for them.
