Used to be a record spinner and in high school on Saturday nights, it was "Country Jamboree" on local station WHOU in Houlton Maine. The audience changed in listenership from the Top 40 Easy Listening up to that 6pm magic moment when programing switched. The country back in early 70's was a little twangy but had some themes Joe Listener in the real world could relate to. The music reflected the ups and downs of their lives. So to make a hit, you had to touch on a bunch of themes that many classic country records had. For example, mentioning the pickup truck, heading to the train station with an hot apple pie on the seat beside you as you picked up your old high school sweetheart would be a start. Dog in the back, doors ready to fall off the rusted rattle trap with the rebel flag in the back window. You could head into the bar territory by having a title "You're Not Much Fun Since I Quit Drinking" or for a real estate them, "Take This House And "Love" It" as your wove into the lyrics the aftermath of divorce. Or that "He's Driving My Pickup, Patting My Dog And Using My Garage", etc lyrics and song title. For blogs, as search engines glean and scan them, highlights mentiong sub prime, short sales, motivational training and how to tutorials seem to get noticed in results. If you get into blogs on tattoing or body piercing, you pull in another crowd in searches in your locale. It makes it time consuming to wade thru all the information and propaganda out there for the guy or gal in front of the monitor. Keep hammering away at your theme or niche. Reaching into other territories that you don't cover can get you noticed but what do you have to offer them? Writing A Country Song Years Ago...Kinda Like The Blog Mish Mash....

Ahhhh..feet hit the floor, automatic coffee maker brewing your favorite blend. Are you a coffee drinker? Do you add a twig of this, a shot of honey or twist of that to make it your special elixir? Or do you drink it black? Over 85 million cups of java consumed daily. Do you have a special travel mug? Do you enjoy the private routine of a warm cup between both hands, the aroma waffling visible skyward? Does your business offer coffee to the employees and customers? Are you the type that when waiting for that tire line up, that you stumble over to the coffee urn in the corner...and sample some mud..I mean coffee that you know has been there for awhile? To the point of considering carbon dating it for the exact time it was brewed? Does this type of coffee and the one in machines remind you of just plain old hot water with a brown crayon dipped in it briefly? Do you have a few cups to get the gears going in the morning and that is it? Does your coffee mug have ten foot pole marks all over it because you can not stomach the stuff in your system..because you don't get your caffeine the coffee way? Mountain Dew, Jolt your preferred liquid medium to get caffeinated? Do you carefully select, personally grind and make the stuff according to world class coffee protocol or is yesterday's zapped in the microwave for a minute fine and dandy for your tongue and nose? Inquiring minds want to know...are you doing your part to sample the java in your daily routine and a major part of that 85 million cup fraternity? Do you drink one right after another and find it would be easier to have a pole, bottle and slow IV drip of the magic bean? Personally, if you have not had a cup of Tim Horten's coffee, you are missing out. Got hooked in Canada watching two boys compete in hockey each winter week during a slew of games. That stuff is high quality coffee and I'm not that picky. What's your pleasure when it comes to coffee?

Living Without Power Could Make You A More Efficient!
Suzie needs her special pair of jeans for the big high school dance tonight...its 20 minutes before the shin dig. What do you do? One wash load on hyper speed for one pair of jeans to avoid social disaster for Suzie? If you lived off line, with no power, Suzie would have washed the jeans yesterday and hung them to dry in front of the wood heater in the cathedral living room. Heck, in the middle of a Maine winter, need some moisture in the place to offset the dry air anyway. Could you live off grid ? On your way home from work, you would stop into the market for tonight's meal. You do not have a giant freezer filled with who knows what at home when you live off grid, with solar, gas or other types of home made power. Could you heat with wood, get your domestic hot water from a coil in the woodstove? Could you live without a freezer with thirty seven flavors turning to crystal and utlimately thrown out if not eaten? How do you think the earlier settler's did it? Is your ideal of camping...a microwave in the 5th wheel that has a satellite dish for movies? Could you grow your own vegtables, beef and make your own preserves, wool mittens and be pretty much self sufficient? Visit this site to see if you could have what it takes to tread lightly and go green in a big way. Your family would appreciate resources and hard work a whole lot more too right?Content © 2009 'Frequent Contributors'. Design © 2009 ActiveRain Corp.
